When working with franchise-based businesses, one of the biggest design challenges is creating a cohesive experience that works at both the national and local level. This was the case with our recent project for Murphy Business, one of the largest and most successful business broker networks in North America.
With over 150 franchise offices across the U.S., Murphy Business needed a consistent and modern web presence that could serve both the corporate brand and each individual office. As part of our collaboration with long-time partner agency Deal Studio, who managed the client relationship, we were tasked with creating the design proposal for both the corporate website and the franchise microsites.
Murphy Business had a solid reputation in the industry, but their digital presence needed alignment. The corporate site and franchise locations lacked visual consistency and a unified structure, which made content management and user experience a challenge – both for internal teams and visitors.
To begin, we created a unique, modern design proposal for the corporate headquarters site, focusing on clean navigation, simplified messaging, and clear user flows for buyers, sellers, and potential franchisees. Once the corporate design was approved, we developed a modular design system that could easily be applied across all franchise pages. This system allowed each location to retain its local identity while staying firmly rooted in the Murphy Business brand.
While we only contributed to the design proposal, the final implementation was handled by Murphy Business’ in-house team. They successfully applied the design system across all franchise locations, maintaining both visual consistency and functional clarity across the entire network.
You can check out the live results here. The corporate site can be found at murphybusiness.com, and the list of franchise locations is available at murphybusiness.com/office-location.
